About Veterinary Specialists of North Texas & Animal Cancer Center

Practice Philosophy

Ours is the only practice in North Texas with board certified medical and radiation oncologists. Our primary function is to serve as an extension of the Family Veterinarian’s Practice.  Once referred, we maintain a strong relationship between the pet owner, our clinic, and the referring veterinarian.  Our philosophy is to discuss all the diagnostic and treatment options with the client to enable them to make informed decisions regarding their pet’s therapy.

Our staff is acutely aware of the significance of the Human-Animal bond and strives to cater to the emotional needs of the pet owner as well as to the specific medical needs of their pets.

Great strides have been made in cancer therapy in the last decade.  Many types of cancer can be successfully treated and long-term remissions can be achieved while preserving quality of life.  The adverse side effects of chemotherapy in companion animals are minimal when compared with human cancer treatments.

If radiation therapy is recommended as an adjunct to your pet’s cancer therapy, our Board Certified Radiation Oncologist is here to discuss the treatment options during your initial visit.

In many cases your pet will require surgery. If so, we will refer you to Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center or back to your referring veterinarian.
