Dr. Christine Rees is a Board Certified
Veterinary Dermatologist. She received her DVM
from Iowa State University in 1988 and was in
general practice for several years before starting
her residency in Veterinary Dermatology at the University of
Pennsylvania.
After completing her residency
in 1995, she became a faculty member at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Rees worked and taught at Texas A&M University Department
of Small Animal Clinical Sciences for 13 years. She was promoted to a tenured Associate
Professor in 2005.
While at Texas A&M University, Dr. Rees received an award from the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital for Excellence
in Clinical Service. She has published numerous book chapters and journal articles throughout the years.
Dr. Rees was involved in research that lead to the US patent for
the test for canine merle coat gene. Her areas of clinical interest
are canine familial dermatomyositis, allergies, otitis, bacterial
and fungal skin infections, endocrinopathies,
new drug therapies in veterinary dermatology, and equine dermatology.
Dr. Rees shares her free time with her husband,
Patrick, son, Michael, their dogs Shasta and Annie and
horses Cassanova and Echo. |
